Privacy Policy
What information Peptide Handling Guide collects and how it is used.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This policy explains what information Peptide Handling Guide collects when you use the site, why, how long it is kept and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can: you can read every page and use every tool without creating an account or telling us who you are.
Summary
- No accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
- The contact form sends us only what you type into it.
- Checklist ticks and label details are saved in your own browser and never sent to us.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
Information you send us
If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. We use these only to read and reply to your message and to act on it, for example by correcting a page. We do not add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing.
We also send a short confirmation to the email address you entered, so you know the message arrived. It does not repeat what you wrote.
The message is delivered by email to the editors. A copy may also be kept as a private record in the site’s administration area, visible only to the site’s administrators, so that reported errors and corrections can be tracked. Please do not include health information or other sensitive personal details in your message.
Spam protection
To limit abuse, the contact form counts recent submissions from each visitor. It does this with a one-way hash of your IP address, which cannot be turned back into the address. The count is used for nothing else and is deleted automatically after 15 minutes.
Tools that run in your browser
The checklists and the label maker save your entries in your browser’s local storage, so they are still there next time you visit. The data is stored under the names phg-checklist-… and phg-label-v1. It stays on your device, is never sent to us and is not a cookie. The checklists have a Reset button, and you can remove everything by clearing site data for this site in your browser settings. The storage finder saves nothing.
Cookies
The site does not set cookies for visitors who are just reading. WordPress sets login cookies only for the site’s own editors when they sign in to manage content.
Third-party services
Google Fonts. The site’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. Google states that the Fonts service sets no cookies and limits the data it collects to what is needed to serve fonts efficiently. See Google’s privacy policy.
Hosting. Like any website, the server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs, such as IP address, the page requested, date and time, and browser type. These are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept only for as long as the hosting provider’s routine log rotation allows.
Analytics. The site does not currently use analytics or advertising services. If that changes, this policy will be updated to name the service before it is used.
External links
Pages link to external sources such as journals, PubMed, PubChem, regulators and standards bodies. When you follow a link you leave this site, and the other site’s privacy practices apply.
How long we keep information
Contact messages and any stored copies are kept only as long as needed to deal with the message and keep a record of corrections, and are deleted sooner on request. The anti-spam count expires after 15 minutes. Data in your browser’s local storage stays until you clear it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how it is used. The only personal information we hold is what you send through the contact form. To make a request, use the contact page and give the email address you used, and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
This site is written for laboratory professionals and students in supervised settings. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how information is collected or used, we will update this page and the date at the top.
